The Mediterranean weight loss diet teaches you to doubt the
eating habits of the beautiful people of the Mediterranean.

This diet is founded upon the idea of needing food is more
than just consuming. Heating is a total experience which
should involve taking proper amount of time to prepare it as

There are no restrictions on this diet. The plan emphasizes
that high calorie and fried foods are to be avoided. Other
than that, the choices are pretty wide open. As long as
portion control is heeded, most foods are not bad for you.

The Mediterranean diet, as it happens, allows you to eat
bread especially Pita Bread. The good news is that Pita
comes in many different varieties including whole-wheat,
which makes it a very healthy choice. This light bread is a
great addition to any meal. You can add it as an appetizer,
for example, dip a triangle of Pita into a mixture of olive
oil and herbs to add flair to any meal.

While following the Mediterranean diet you are allowed to
consume fruits, veggies, low-calorie pastas, cheese, and
yogurt. To add a little bit of variety vegetables may be
sauted in olive oil. For a healthier choice you can
substitute Pastas made from white flour with pastas made
from wheat flour.

People living in the Mediterranean region of the world get
most of their daily protein requirements from plant sources,
but meat is eaten also. Fish and seafood are the usual
choices, but lean meats are eaten in small portions as well.
Plant sources provide proteins that are lower in cholesterol
and fat. This fact improves the overall health of the
dieter.

The Mediterranean diet focuses on the enjoyment of food.
Exercise is not stressed, but my viewpoint is that exercise
enhances any diet plan. Following the Mediterranean diet
will result in weight loss but adding an exercise will only
improve your results. Start off with 30 minutes of activity
three days a week and increase when you feel comfortable.
