2007 Hybrid Cars: A Review
by Anton Rowd
The auto industry has seen the emergence of different
technologies on hybrid electric cars following Toyota's
release of its first model, Prius, in 2001. Of course, the
concept of hybrid cars is still the same as in all cars.
The difference lies in the engine designs. Reviews has it
that the 2007 hybrid cars are now more auto
technologically-advanced than any car manufactured before.
And the best part is that car manufacturers all over are
aiming to develop even better hybrid cars in the future to
compete in the market! Here are some examples of the more
popular hybrid cars for the year.
Toyota Prius
Toyota Prius is still remains top on the hybrid car lists as
the most fuel efficient and the most reliable hybrid car in
the industry by going over 25 miles with as little as a
dollar in the gas tank. Often mistaken for a compact for
its mid-size, it has the smallest tank for its class.
Saturn Aura Hybrid Car
For an ordinary-looking mold such as a sedan, the Saturn
hybrid car is really quite the head-turner. However, a
quick look under the hood would tell you that this beauty
tells another story. Though it may look good for the year
2007, the Saturn may just as well be listed among the worst
performing hybrids in its class for the year. As a mid-size
car that laps up as much as 16 gallons of gas, its engine
seems more like a thirsty Safari animal rather than a cost-
and fuel-efficient hybrid car.
Nissan Altima Hybrid
Fuel economy can be a tricky thing and Nissan seems to know
its customers quite well in this field. Although the 2007
model does mean that you would have to spend about $1200 a
year on fuel, the 2007 hybrid does manage to do 702 miles on
a full tank. It seems that it outweighs its competition in
Toyota but the trick that Nissan has up their sleeve is that
the Altima has a larger tank that holds 20 gallons of fuel.
For the very careful, it may not be a wise purchase but for
those who don't intend on making too many stops that the gas
station every now and then, this may be a great hybrid
option to begin with.
2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Car
The latest model of Honda Civic hybrid car is probably the
closest runner-up to the top selling in the field, the
Toyota hybrid. The Honda Civic was placed under the top
selling gas-car, and now, it seems that it can even further
prove its own worth in the hybrid car arena as well with a
tank slightly larger than Toyota's Prius, running for 554
miles on its full tank. This edge is definitely quite an
improvement from its last hybrid model. Hybrid car
aficionados should not be surprised, therefore, to find it
on top of the 2007 Hybrid car list once the Prius stocks run
low. - 15668
